Privacy Policy
Effective October 26, 2026
This policy explains what Clear Life Plans collects on clearlifeplans.com, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Clear Life Plans is run by HS Ventures Inc., a company based in Ontario, Canada ("Clear Life Plans", "we", "us"). We connect people who ask about life insurance with one licensed insurance agent in their state. We aren't an insurance company, an insurance agent or a government agency.
Information you give us
When you take the quiz on our home page, we collect:
- Your answers: who the coverage is for, the age range of the person it's for, the coverage amount you'd like, whether there's been any tobacco or nicotine use in the last 12 months, and overall health.
- Your ZIP code, which tells us your state.
- Your first and last name, email address and mobile number.
- The consent wording shown to you when you tapped Text me my code, and when you tapped it.
When you tap Text me my code, we send your mobile number to Twilio, our texting provider, which texts you a 6-digit code. Entering that code confirms the number is yours. We save your answers and contact details only after the code is confirmed.
Information collected automatically
When you visit, we and our providers collect your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, how far down each page you scroll, how long you stay, the names of the quiz steps you reach (never your answers), and the page that sent you here. If you came from an ad, we also collect the ad tags in the web address, such as utm tags or a Facebook click ID. These stay in your browser tab for the visit and are saved with your quiz answers, so we know which ad brought you.
Our site keeps a random visitor ID in your browser's storage so we can tell a return visit from a new visitor. It's tied to your name only if you send the quiz.
We also work out your rough location: your country, state, city and time zone, from your IP address and your browser's time zone setting. It's saved with your visit, and with your quiz request if you send one. We don't collect your exact location, such as GPS coordinates.
How we use your information
- To connect you with one licensed insurance agent in your state, who contacts you about your life insurance options.
- To confirm your mobile number with the text code.
- To keep records of your request and of your consent to be contacted.
- To measure and improve our ads and this website.
- To prevent spam and fraud, keep our systems secure, and comply with the law.
Who we share it with
Once your number is confirmed, we send your quiz answers and contact details to one licensed insurance agent in your state, who contacts you about your options.
We also share information with the companies that help us run Clear Life Plans: Cloudflare (website hosting and security), Twilio (the text code), Meta (ad measurement, as described below), and the providers that host our records and send our emails. They may use it only to provide their services to us.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect our rights or someone's safety, or as part of a merger or sale of our business.
Cookies and the Meta pixel
Our home page uses the Meta pixel, and our server uses Meta's Conversions API, to measure how our Facebook and Instagram ads perform. The pixel tells Meta when someone views our home page, and it reports a request only after the text code is confirmed. Third parties, including Meta, may use cookies, web beacons and other storage technologies to collect or receive information from this website and elsewhere on the internet, and use that information to provide measurement services and to target and deliver ads.
After you confirm your number, our server sends Meta your name, email address, mobile number, country and a customer ID in hashed (scrambled) form, along with your IP address, browser details and Meta's cookie IDs, so Meta can match your request to an ad. We don't send Meta your quiz answers or your ZIP code.
To opt out:
- Control how Meta uses this information for ads in your Facebook ad preferences.
- Opt out of interest-based ads from many companies at aboutads.info/choices.
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
Our site doesn't change how it works in response to browser "Do Not Track" signals.
Calls, texts and email
When you tap Text me my code, you agree that Clear Life Plans and a licensed insurance agent may call, text and email you about life insurance at the number and email you gave, including with automated technology. Agreeing isn't a condition of buying anything. The full wording is in our Terms.
To stop, reply STOP to any text, tell the agent or the person calling you, or email [email protected]. Message and data rates may apply.
How long we keep it
We keep your request and contact details for as long as we need them to connect you with an agent and for our records. We keep the record of your consent, with the wording you saw and when you agreed, for at least five years. After that, we delete your information or remove anything that identifies you.
How we protect it
We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections and access limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your information, we'll tell you as the law requires.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, or ask us to stop contacting you, by emailing [email protected]. We'll reply within 30 days, and we may ask you to confirm who you are first. We may need to keep some records, like the record of your consent, where the law requires it.
Once we've sent your request to an agent, the agent keeps their own copy and handles it under their own privacy policy. To stop the agent's calls, texts or emails, or to have them delete your details, tell the agent too.
If you aren't satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Where your information is stored
We're based in Canada. Our service providers store and process information in other countries, including the United States, where courts, law enforcement and national security authorities may be able to access it under local law.
Under 18
This site is for adults. It isn't meant for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the effective date at the top.
